๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒนWhy do roses have thorns?๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒน

Long long ago, when animals and plants could talk, there were many plants. One plant was very special. She was called Rose, and there were thousands of roses. There was a garden filled with colorful beautiful roses.

Every time somebody fell in love, they used to go to the rose gardens and pluck some flowers to give to their loved ones. Slowly the population of the roses went down. All the roses were sorrowful as some of their friends died. All the roses complained to the queen of roses. The queen was upset to hear about this and she was heartbroken. She decided to speak with the fairies in order to stop the humans from hurting the rose population.

The quest began. The queen, accompanied by some soldiers, walked long distances. They walked across the river, they climbed the mountains and they crossed the desert. Then they finally reached the town of the fairies. The queen asked the fairies for help. She informed them about humans plucking roses and reducing the rose population. She requested the fairies to change the look of the rose such that humans would leave them alone. The fairies asked, “ How would you like to change?”. The queen said, “I don’t want the appearance to be changed, can you change the stem as that is where the humans pluck us?” The fairies decided they would add thorns to  the stem of the roses. The queen agreed.

From that day onwards humans didn’t pluck the roses as it hurt them.

This is how roses got their thorns.๐ŸŒน
