A Missed Opportunity
A Missed Opportunity
One fine day I came home from school, to find my brother writing an essay on Nepal. I curiously went over to him, and asked him “Is Nepal a beautiful place?”He replied, “Oh yes it is! In fact we should ask dad if we could go there this summer”. The very next day, I asked my dad if we could book tickets to Kathmandu. Surprisingly, he agreed. One week later, we were on a flight to Kathmandu, a tiring journey it was. We booked a premium room at Radisson. There was one thing peculiar and special about Nepal. Can you guess it?Oh Yes! It is the Himalayas.
The next thing I knew I was on a special local flight called the “Mountain Flight”, to have a special view of the Himalayas and Mount Everest. It was a great flight, because it was very early in the morning, but sadly I took a good long nap throughout the entire flight.
My friends do go on an adventurous flight like me but be sure to take a good, worthy nap before boarding the flight.
I hope to go back to Kathmandu one day and that time I will make sure to be fully awake!

Optimist? Pessimist? Realist?
Optimist? Pessimist? Realist?
Whether you’re an optimist, a pessimist or a realist,
We know your personality is all for the best,
One persona is backing away from the tall chute,
Another is convincing yourself “Hey, I can play the flute!”
But the true best of them all,
Is being the first to stand tall,
And say “No stage or speech will make me fall, at all!”
So I am not forcing you (no, not at all!)
To change your persona once and for all,
But it’s best to drop your old persona,
And take up optimism, the best of them all!

You Cannot Please Everybody!
You Cannot Please Everybody!
Once there lived two gnomes. Their names were Tommy and Sammy. Sammy was very short and plump whereas Tommy was very skinny and tall. They were best friends.
Everyone thought they made an unusual pair but they didn't mind. They loved to please everybody. One day they were going to the market to sell apples. Tommy was pushing the apple cart so he was sweating and felt exhausted.
On the way to the market, they passed by Mr. Franklin. He said, “Oh look at poor Tommy. Why can’t Sammy help him?” On hearing this, Sammy and Tommy decided to push the cart together. On the way, they met Mr. and Mrs.Theodore. “Look Grab!” Mrs. Theodore cackled to Mr.Theodore. “Both of them are pushing the cart. Maybe just one of them could push the cart.” So now Tommy was pushing the cart.
On a hillside he got tired and stopped. On the way to the top of the hill, they met Mr. Healy, the village schoolmaster. He said, “Oh Sammy! Why are you not pushing the cart? It is so easy to push if you both do it together. Look at poor Tommy!” Sammy turned bright red with embarrassment. Tommy consoled Sammy by telling him that the village schoolmaster was just being rude. Sammy cooled down a little bit. But after consoling him Tommy muttered under his breath,’’Why can’t we please everybody?’’
After they reached the market, they started to sell apples. But whatever price they said, everyone had a problem with them. Tommy was turning redder and redder. Soon a kind-hearted young woman came and introduced herself as Ms. Aurelia. She saw that the people in front of her were upset with Tommy and Sammy. When she got to the front she understood that Sammy and Tommy liked to please others but noticed that today wasn’t their day of pleasing anyone. So she taught them a lesson by saying that they don’t need to please everybody.
They finally understood that everyone took them for granted because they were trying to please others. That day they had learned their lesson of doing what is right and not what pleases others.
Moral: You don’t need to please everyone you see.
